Bonding with Scarlet

This is how Jackson likes to make friends with Scarlet. Normally, he is chasing her and hitting her with things and she is running from him (making the chasing even more fun!), but every now and then he does a nice gesture for her and she will sit still as long as it lasts! Just for a little clarification, we keep Scarlet's food and water bowls down in the basement , on the unfinished side, so that's where Jackson is going to get her food.

Something funny!

These are hilarious and oh so true about my gift-giving this year. I think each one actually applies to one gift or another. To my family, don't be surprised if you see one in person this year on your gift. To see them up close to read them, click on the picture and it should enlarge it for you. The picture and tags are from Angry Chicken and there is a link to a downloadable PDF, so if you want to print some of your own off, go here. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Tim and Ella!

Todd's brother, Tim, and our niece, Ella, share the same birthday, which happens to be today. Hope you both have a great day!

Sorry, Tim! I couldn't resist putting this picture up because it always makes me laugh. We celebrated Ella's birthday in Sioux Falls on Sunday with the family and then got to see Ella's Christmas program that evenening too. She looked so pretty all dressed up! Happy Birthday Ella!

Some of the latest

No, we do not have rats, contrary to what it may look like. This is Jackson's favorite snack lately- raisins. But, the downside is that we find them all over the house, including in with all of our cookware. So I thought I'd give you a little update on Jackson and all of the fun new things going on at our house. So here's a little trip through Jackson's life in the last few days.
He learned how to pull his pants down- Yay! Again, a downside though, is that he pulls them down ALL the time...in the kitchen, in the living room, at Wal-Mart. I'm actually really nervous to go to church tomorrow.
The other day, my friend Gina came over for a little while with her daughter Ella. Jackson and Ella are play buddies in the nursery at church so they had a good old time together. For some reason they were loving sitting next to each other underneath the desk. It was quite cute. They must have played hard, because for the first time ever...
Jackson fell asleep during lunch! Never even made it to the main course.

He really is such a bundle of energy these days and is learning more and more every day. He loves to say, "Uh-Oh!", "Hi!", "Bye Bye", "Dog", and "All Done" (which actually sounds more like Da-Duh, but he does the sign for it so that's how I know what he's saying) whenever possible. Ok, so enough bragging about my cute, smart, sweet child. For now.

14 month pictures

We had Jackson's pictures taken the other day- little late for the 1 year old pictures, but better late than never. If you want to see them, go to this website and then put in my name where it says "name". It should take you to a page where you will see my name. Click on that and it will ask you for a password, which is very original- Jackson. I think they will only be on the website for 30 days, so if it's past about Jan. 5, 2008, you probably won't be able to see them. So get it while the getting's good!

Soup Night

We hosted a "Soup Night" at our house on Thursday night and invited some friends over to help eat a big pot of soup. You know how it goes...you want soup, but don't want to be eating it for the next two weeks. We had Black Bean Chicken Chili - very yummy! Thanks, Mrs. F., for the recipe. I also made some of my mom's famous sugar cookies to decorate which was kind of fun. The kids had a lot fun decorating and then eating. And it worked out well to send cookies home with them also so that I was tempted to eat them all myself. Enjoy the pictures!
